Let me start off this week by giving you an update from my goals last week:
Get [TBA app] to launch on iPhones and iPads
I was hoping to get this game up and going. Unfortunately, the process required to get a UE4 game to launch on iOS has changed from very difficult to extremely frustrating mode. I decided that though I loved working on this game it was time to let it go.
Now on to better news!
Though getting the app going was a set back I am excited to tell you about a game that I have been wanting to get back to. Toony Planes (working title) is a flying racing game. Some of the key features and mechanics will include:
Local Multiplayer
Racing stunts
Wacky weapons and power ups
Multiple characters to choose from
Non-Player Characters (NPC) racers
Easy Controls
Dynamic Environments
Some stretch goals include:
Battle mode
Online Multiplayer
Customizable Banners
Customizable planes
Shortcuts (risk for return options on tracks)
This sprint I was able to get the NPC’s to find and head to checkpoints. Checkpoints will be the way that players will know where to go while racing. Checkpoints originally where used to help players know if they are going the right way. The GIF shows the NPC flying from one checkpoint to another.
Goals for next sprint:
Add landing / take off
Add barrel roll stunt
Auto level out (pitch)
