Snow Cannon Added

Hello my fellow flyers! Hope you find favorable winds. Airscrew Racing is back on the radar and here are the updates for you!


New Weapon: Snow Cannon

In an attempt to help player one keep the lead we added a new weapon that can keep those pesky people off their tail. The item is similar to the gatling gun where you take control of it. The projectiles are slower and are effected by gravity to keep it balanced. The weapon was added because the Hot Air Balloon was targeting the wrong group. By the time you took control of the hot air balloon the fellow racers had already passed. Meaning you only had a chance of getting people that are already falling behind in the race. This weapon fixed that issue by keeping you in the battle with those that are close behind. The hot air balloon is still in the game but you need a HUGE lead before it becomes available.


New Map: Nandos(working title)


Well this map has been in the works for over 6 months. I have learned so much and had plenty of failures when working on this map. The big emphasis I wanted to try is to have the path you race feel open to discovery but intuitive to know where you need to go. I used light to draw the player through different turns and think the flow is awesome. Also it looks cool!



Functional Tests

As mentioned in my last post. I had to take a break on this project for family stuff (all good things). Coming back to it I found allot of bugs that needed some love. I found out about functional tests that can run the game and test different elements. So I have been reworking a TON to get the game in a good state. After things are fixed up expect to see another build available on the Discord channel!


Goals for next Sprint:

  • Bug fixes

  • Weapon Crafting based on distance from 1st position instead of race position

Horizon Goals:

  • Rework Ice Map
